Today, we take a moment to mourn the passing of our 39th President of the United States - James Earl Carter.
A former governor of Georgia, Jimmy Carter emphasized human rights, environmental conservation, and energy reforms during his presidency. He faced many economic challenges with inflation and unemployment while making achievements in the Middle East between Egypt and Israel with the Camp David Accords.
After leaving office, Carter became a global humanitarian, founding the Carter Center to promote peace, health and democracy. He earned a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 marking his legacy of service worldwide.
